Customer Reviews

When I bought this card game for a mere $6, I didn't think I'd get much for the money, but I was wrong. This is a great card game for children aged 6-10ish and it comes in a cool sturdy lunch box so the cards and pieces don't get lost. My kids are 7 and 9 and they loved it. You have to build three peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with the cards that you are dealt. When you need a new card, you discard or use one, then pick up a new, constantly keeping two cards in your possession. Watch out for the fly! Someone can put down a fly card and move the little plastic fly to your sandwich preventing you from finishing it. However, you can continue to "build" it on the side and put it all together when someone moves the fly to another person's sandwich. There's also an ant card that can be used to "steal" part of someone's sandwich. We laughed so hard playing this as a family and switching the fly to each other's sandwich. Our only complaint is that for a group of four people, there weren't enough cards in the deck towards the end of the game to keep the pick up pile plentiful to keep playing. We constantly had to mix up the discarded pile and reuse those same cards. We did figure out that you once everyone has built one sandwich, you can take those cards and put them in the "take" pile to be reused. You could also just build two sandwiches for the game instead of three. Great little game for kids and parents!

We received the Peanut Butter ; Jelly Card Gamefor Christmas this year and have played it many many times. Our kids are 4 ; 5 and love it and we like it as well. They can play it themselves without any help or supervision but particularly enjoy beating Mom ; Dad. A game takes about 5 or 6 minutes, the rules are very easy to follow and there is a tiny bit of strategy that the kids pick up and can use.
